Susan, who is on the Fauquier-L (VA) list has posted quite a bit of information about the Westmoreland Co, VA Bayly/Baileys.She did not mention your Bayly lady. But she seemed to have a much better handle on these folks than me.Perhaps if you posted there, we could all chip our information in..to make a whole picture.
On March 9, 2002, she posted a long email about the West. Co. Bayleys who went to Fauquier Co. on the above mentioned list.
Also, the manager of that list (Jim Burgess) is trying to gather all the information about the Fauquier Baylys.I am not knowledgable obout them; but I tend to believe most if not all, were the same family.
This is how I think she figures they may come out: John Bayley m'd Elizabeth Carr and lived on the Nomini in West. Co. Their son was a William who m'd Elizabeth Blowers Their son was a William + Anne (?Newhouse?) Their son was Wm. (b.@ 1757) + Nancy Newby. The family is thought to have moved to Pr William Co. abt 1737, a little north of Warrenton, VA. (Which became Fauquier Co.)
The last William fought in the Revo. War at Brandywine & Germantown. He died in Culpeper Co, VA at his son Presley Bayly's house.
Wish I knew enough to know how yours fit.I'll keep my eye out. Shirley
