From Pages 138-139 "Asa Bearce of Halifx, Mass. was a Lieut. in Capt. Thompson's co., commissioned June 6, 1776.He was an early buyer of land in Shepardsfield, securing five or five lots prior to 1786.He was chairman of the committee chosen by the inhabitants to forward their petition for incorporation, and was the first Treasurer of the town. "His wife, Mary, after living with hime 65 years, died April 13, 1825, [at the age of] 84 years and 9 months.Her descendants were 8 children, 65 grandchildren and 63 great-grandchildren. "Lieut. Asa Bearse died, of cancer, August 21, 1827. "The town records do not give the names of his children, but to Asa Bearce Jr, are credited:--- "Lucinda, b. June 6, 1790; m. November 7, 1811, John Farris of Hebron. "Sylvinia, b. Sept. 25, 1792; m. Daniel Bearce"
Asa Sr. had a brother Gideon, whose wife's name was Lucy.The y had a daughter Lucy, born April 11, 1795, and a daughter Lucinda, born March 29, 1813.Their son Gideon Jr had a daughter Lucy, born May 4,1818."
Under Farris (p185ff), James had a son who married Lucinda Bearce.While other children have their children listed, John and Lucinda do not.Could John have died young and Lucinda remarried?
Under Bonney, there is "Chauncy Bonney, son of John of Paris, came to Oxford before 1850."
