My husband is also descended from Jacque Vaudry and Jeanne Renaud through their son Francois' marriage to Marie Brouillet dit Violette on 1693-10-03 in Point-Aux-Trembles.Their daughter Marie Angelique married Joseph Francois Senet (Senez in PRDH)on 1734-01-11 also in Point-Aux-Trembles.All the PRDH records I have on the Vaudrys show the name as Vaudry Beaudry although I haven't seen that elsewhere.
Joseph Francois Senet's father was Nicolas Senet dit Laliberte, the immigrant ancestor. He was a corporal in the French Army and married Gertrude Daunay in 1689 in Boucherville. He became a royal notary and singing teacher and lived mostly in Pointe-Aux-Trembles.Joseph was a capitaine d'milice (don't know if I spelled that right).I have a copy of Angelique and Joseph Francois' marriage contract which, not knowing French, I can't translate other than picking out names and places.
My husband's Senet line after Joseph Francois goes to Joseph m. Marie Cadoret, Ignatius m. Seraphine Greffard in Detroit, Moses Louis m. Archange Duchene Detroit, Moses (by then the name is Snay) m. Ellen Robitaille Macomb Co. MI, William Moses m. Ida Thomas Thibault Macomb Co. MI, Earl m. Clara Schalm Mt. Clemens MI (the first of non-French ancestry), then my husband's mother and himself and our children.
Jacques'son Joseph was in Detroit around the time of Cadillac. He married Marie Lepage.I have some interesting articles about Marie's life and her illegitimate daughter by Etienne Veron Grandmesnil, Cadillac's secretary. Joseph married her about 10 years after this episode. Also an article about a trial for trading "in the woods without a license" in which one of the defendants is Etienne Vaudry. It mentions his mother, sister and brother-in-law.These articles were in the journal "Habitant Heritage".I could send you copies of these if you are interested.
Which Vaudry are you descended from?If you have any interesting stories or history of the Vaudrys to share, I would be interested in hearing them.
