Tim-your letter was great, I could not believe such a lovely letter. It covered a long time & lots of places. I have your direct line from
immigrant to James Thomas. I have corresponded with a number of your kin. Lucille g/d of J T
d/o Grace Vivian, Kenneth g/s of J T & s/o Thelma only to mention a couple.
The sons of J T who went to Washington state were
James Samuel, Cyrus & Charles Edward.
I know of a guy, s/o Cyrus who has a trunk full of
Becraft stuff. I was, for years going to go see what I could find but the opportunity was never right. I will help you with your endeavor with
family sheets, census, court records, tax lists, wills, land records, circuit court records. cemetery records, births, deaths & marriages. Also some clues as where to do further research.
David s/o Virgil Coomer lived in Mexico for many
years. About the African American cousins, think
I know where some of them live.
Am I kin? Not yet, but there is still hope. This stuff takes years, lots of patience & letters, letters & more letters. I have been fortunate to be able to go to many states to do research & have
loved every minute.
If you want some or all of what I have it will be a bundle & will have to be sent Priority Mail not
E-mail. Will enclose one of my addresses so as you
can let me know your mailing address.
