Hello, my name is Fritz Beermann. I´m living in a small village near Nienburg (Weser) in Germany. I only now discovered your messages.
In this area between the river "Weser" and the river "Leine" the family name Beermann is very common and exists since many centuries in the villages: Steimbke, Steimbke-Glashof, Rodewald, Wendenborstel, Lutter, Heemsen, Gadesbünden, Rohrsen. The small village of Glashof already consists of four farms of different Beermann-families in the 16th century.
My ancestors lived in Steimbke, Glashof, Heemsen. I couldn´t find in our family tree anyone, who went to America. May be, someone else from another Beermann-familiy or branch emigrated.
People suppose "Beermann" is the low german form of the high german "Biermann" and means "beer dealer". In Steimbke there are certain church records til 1585.
