Abraham Beitel (Fact of Fiction)
I received a copy of the following form letter from my brother Warren H. Beitel. Fact or fiction
June 22, 2005
Dear__________________
My name is Aviva Ludmila Bittan and I was born in Moscow Russia. I'm living now in Jerusalem, Israel since 1972. The surmane of my late grandmother Leah (Lea) before marriage was Beitel. The pronunciation can be also BYTEL or BAITEL (because it comes from Russian language).
Leah had one daughter and one son, The son is my father David Olshansky and he is now 77 years old. Leah had seven brothers older than her and she was the little member of the family. The name of her father was ABRAHAM BEITEL. Abraham Beitel's place of birth was in the city of Skvira which it is near the cities of Fastov & Kiev in Ukraine. On those times it was a part of great Russia. He died and was buried in Fastov. Around the year 1910, the seven brothers of Leah immigrated to the U.S.A. All seven brothers were born in Russia (Ukraine) before the year 1893. They came to Baltimore in the State of Maryland and to Galveston in the State of Texas through the New York Port. The seven brothers and their children sought after Leah all of those years until they found her in Moscow, Russia. But, Leah could not leave Russia because of the Soviet communist cruel regime even she received an official certificate from the USA authorities to live there. Leah never saw again even one of her brothers until she died on the 1958 in Moscow, Russia.
I'm serching for the descendants of the seven Beitel Abraham sons which they are probably my lost family. If this story sounds familiar to you, I'll appreciate if you will write me back a letter via air mail (mention please your phone number include area code) to my address which it is: PO Box 2524, Jerusalem 91026, Isreal.
Sincerely yours
Aviva Ludmila Bittan
