Does anyone have a marriage of a female BENSLEY to a man named KING, JARRATT, OLDHAM, or GLOVER, in England in the 1700's?
My ancestry includes the family of Samuel KING, iron-monger, and Elizabeth JARRATT. Two of their children have BENSLEY as a second given name: child number 8, Joseph Bensley KING, born January 17, 1835; child number 10, Mary Bensley KING, born December 7, 1837.
I suspect that BENSLEY is an ancestral surname, perhaps of Samuel's mother or grandmother. Samuel KING was born in London, Middlesex, England, in 1799. I know nothing of his antecedents.
Elizabeth JARRATT's ancestors were from the area around Mountsorrel, Leicestershire, England. Her father's grandmothers were Constance ???, married to Richard JARRATT, around 1750, and Ann ???, married to William OLDHAM, around 1750. Her mother's mother was probably Ann ???, married to Thomas GLOVER around 1775.
