Ernest F. Berard, 88, of Ormond Beach, died Wednesday, March 31, 2010. Mr. Berard was born August 16, 1921 in Brooklyn, NY and moved to Daytona Beach in 1979. He was a veteran of the US Army, Sergeant serving during World War II. Mr. Berard attended Drake School of Drafting, New York, NY and SUNY, Farmingdale, NY. He worked as an manufacturing engineer for the Grumman Aircraft Corp for 25 years and was one of the last of the original members of the Northeast Chapter of the Northeast Grumman Retiree Club. He was also a former member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church, South Daytona and an avid fisherman, golfer and bowler. Ernest was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy. He is survived by his loving daughter and son-in-law, Alyce and Dale Whitman of Crescent City, FL; and three cherished grandchildren, Rebecca, Lowell and Aaron.
