I've responded to your postings before but after reading this one I am intrigued. My family tree is the following.
Elizabeth Ruby came to America and settled in Brookly with her many siblings. They were from Dobsina, Hungary which is now part of Slovakia. Her parents were Esther Paltzmann and Jacob Ruby. Our understanding was that Jacob was Catholic. I'm not sure on Esther's religious affiliation. Esther's mother was a Berger. I don't know her first name. He was a Bell caster in Vienna. His daughter married and ran off with his apprentice to America. He followed and settled in New Jersey. From family information, he never found her. The Ruby family came over in the early 1900s. Does this sound remotely familiar.I'm stuck on this family and have been for a while.
I always found it intriguing that Esther came over with all her children and that Jacob stayed behind. None of the children would talk about him.
Well good luck if we are not connected but I watch for any information that I think might go with yours.
