Catherine C. Henry Catherine Camille "Katie" Henry, 96, died Jan. 11, 2001. Funeral Mass for was celebrated Jan. 16, 2001, at St. Augustine's Catholic Church, Rev. Jack O'Leary, SJ, Celebrant. Cremation was held with private famliy inurnment to follow at a later date. She was born June 5, 1904, in St. Joseph, Mo., to Augustus Steven and Elizabeth (Goodfellow) Berger. Her mother died when Mrs. Henry was 14 and she raised her three younger brothers and one younger sister. She completed Catholic high school while serving as a foster mother. At age 18 she married Bill Blackmer. Mr. Blackmer died when his was 50 and she married John Baldwin Henry. They settled in Ashland, Ore., where they owned and operated the Henry Lumber Company for many years. After their retirement, the Henrys traveled; they lived aboard a boat in Puget Sound for many years. In 1970, the Henrys built a home in the Greenbank area. Mr. Henry died in 1984 and Mrs. Henry eventually moved to Oak Harbor. She was a member of St. Augustine's Catholic Church. Mrs. Henry was preceded in death by two husbands, her son, William Blackmer, her three brothers and one sister. She is survived by two grandsons, William Blackmer of Greensburg, Pa., and Robert Blackmer of Las Vegas. Funeral arragements were under the direction of Burley Funeral Chapel.
