I have a photo which I would like help identifying. It is labeled "Sam Berger at Cripple Creek". My father Joseph Coleman Reynolds worked for the United States Smelting Refining Company exploration Department (gold mining, dredging)near Fairbanks Alaska...(his social security card issued in Alaska in 1937 while working for this gold mining company)... and he took several photos with his camera of this Sam Berger fellow whom I would love to pass onto his family. I have negatives as well. I don't have actual dates for these photos. I have a feeling Coleman my father and Sam were good friends.
Other photos: some taken in Juneau, Paul and Mary Witner are labeled on some of the other photos... unknown miners in a couple of group photos, two unidentified photo of a "crewmans child" as well a little girl with dark blonde or brown hair...hard to tell in black and white. I hope to get all the photos posted on a website sometime. They even found some mammoth tusks while mining and they are shown in some of these photos. Anyway I hope Sam Berger's family or others are out there. My father died when I was 9 and I don't have a lot of info on mining...only photos.
