Hi, My gg-grandfather was Simon Jefferson, the brother of John Nelson Berge/Berger/Burger/Barger etc... found various spellings. This family used many different spellings. In my research, 1900 census in Sedgwick County Kansas, found John along with Maude M, Frank S, Ray F, Maud R, and Simon and Rosanna ( which were his parents, my ggg-grandparents) living in the same household. In the 1910 Census in Sedgwick County Kansas, John N. Burger, Maude M, Frank S, Ray F, Maude William, Ralph, Lillian, and Ruth.In the 1920 Census in Osage County, Oklahoma, John Berger, Maud, Ralph, Lillian, Ruth, Ivy and Richard. I have not found a Catherine, unless I am missing something.I have corresponded with a couple of descendants of this family, which included visiting with Ivy, before she passed away in 2001 and in telling me about all her siblings she never mentioned a sister named Catherine.I will double check my original notes when I visited with her, but don't recall her mentioning a Catharine and so far I have not found her listed on any census. I am also in contact with one of Ralph's children.John Nelson is buried in Oklahoma in the same cemetery my gg-grandfather Simon Jefferson is buried(he is buried with the spelling Barger and John Nelson is under Berger. When John Nelson was married, the the marriage application is Burge. I have more information on this family, and have them back to the 1700's.They came here from Switzerland. I will be glad to share information with you.
