I have recently found a connection between my Ratcliffes from Great Budworth, Cheshire and a Beswick family in Salford, Lanc. Ann Ratcliffe b. 1823 Seven Oaks, Gr.Bud, Cheshire.. illig daug of Mary Ratcliffe also b. Seven Oaks. Ann married Richard Beswith b.c. 1826 Salford. Seems as if Richard and Ann did not live together for much of their marriage. In 1851 Ann was visiting her mother and Richard was living with his brother Thomas working as a book keeper. In 1861 and 1871 Ann and daughters were living on Regent Rd in Salford, Lanc. Her mother, Mary, was living with her. Richard was working in 1861 in Manchester as a waiter at the Dog and Partridge. In 1871 he was working as a Barman at the "Crown Vaults" in Manchester. In 1881, Ann had died and Richard was back at Regent Road at the "Duke of Lancaster Inn" with his daughters. He is listed as Publican. Daughters were Elizabeth Ann, Mary Emma, Sarah Jane and Ellen Amelia. Would be interested in sharing information with anyone connected to this family.
