I am looking for ancestors of Nona Kay Bickerstaff (living).
When my sister visited Nona Kay at her mission work in New York City, many people remarked that they were so much alike in voice, inflections, manerisms and body language that they must be related. All my sister knew was that Nona Kay's grandfather was born in Texas.
I have done some research that gave me the name of her father, Herrod, and I have found her grandfather listed in District 4, Cerokee County, Texas in the 1920 census. The enumerator's handwriting was not well defined and I am not sure of the names of wife (looks like Hanson)age 46, oldest son (looks like Dewane)age 16, another son age 11 (might be Lenoard)but could read the daughter's name, Elizabeth, age seemed to be 11. Then there was Herrod, age 1.Due to the differences in the ages of J. T. at 61 and his wife at 45 and the distance from the next-to-last child and Herrod, I am suspecting that this was J. T.'s second wife.
I have not been able to locate J. T. in the 1910 or 1900 census yet.
Thanks in advance for any information anyone can share.
