Nope, I haven't heard of her journal existing - just HOPING.The only accounts of what happened with 11-GGpa John I've read have been written by Gov. Bradford and Thomas Morton.Obviously Gov. Bradford couldn't stand our Billingtons, so I keep hoping to run across something written by a FRIEND of theirs, or someone who didn't despise the ground they walked upon.
I've read that John was a good marksman and was gunning for Newcomen (according to Bradford), and I've also read (I think it was Morton's "satire") that John was hunting, and hit Newcomen (who was partially hidden behind a tree) in the shoulder - something that these days wouldn't be fatal. It also raises a question of why the guy would be hiding behind a tree if John was hunting.Trying to get his own shot at 11-GGpa?Or actually a friend, out hunting together, and Gpa John saw movement & thought he was a deer??What did he say between the time he was shot and when he died??Surely Bradford wouldn't have been the only one around the dying man... if he was even present.
Do you have a link of the 17 page write-up?I haven't seen it, but am interested!
