Well I am home sick today with the flu and was getting tired of just laying around feeling aweful, so I thought I would drown my pain in a little genealogy which usually heals all for me! I'm notsure that my mind is working very well though, but thought I would tackle some of Bindel posts, particularly this recent one. A couple of comments. I am intrigued by the Anna Bindel from St. Louis. You say that she was born in Baden and even mention a Bieberthal near Buhl. I suspect the correct spelling is Buhlertal which is only a couple of miles from Buhl. I am aware of this because my Burkart ancestors came from a couple of miles from there. Since my gt-grandfather Alois Burkart married an Anna Bindel, I find this interesting. However, my Ann Bindel was the daughter of Johannes George Bindel who married Margareta Frederick and he was born (according to information on this forum) at Dankmarshausen, Saxe (Saxony)-Meiningen. So I don't see any tie in because of location differences. But isn't it interesting that a Bindel lived within a few miles of a Burkart. Does anyone have any connection here. I have located a number of Bindels in this region from the German phone book that must be descendants of your Anna Bindel. A clarification is in order to this forum. I earlier stated that my Bindels were from Franche-Comte, France which was German and across the Rhine river from Baden. I meant to say that the Margareta Frederick that married Johannes George Bindel was from there. So again there seems to be no obvious tie-in to your Bindels. Let keep up the dialogue and maybe we will be able to find a tie-in yet. If you have any other information on my Bindels, I would be so happy to receive it. I am now researching my Johannes George Bindel from Saaxe-Meiningen, Germany.
