HANNAH BETTS BINNING was born October ll, l839, near Williamsport, Pennsylvania and departed this life June l9, l9l9, at Oakland, Calif., being at the time of her death, 79 years, 8 months and 8 days.She was united in marriage in Delaware County, Iowa, February 20, l860, to HENRY BINNING, who departed this life July 30, l9l4.They moved to Decatur County in l889.Seven children were born to this union, WOOD BINNING, of Aberdeen, South Dakota; FRANK, of Van Wert, Iowa; HENRY, of Payton, Utah; BURLEIGH, of Cora, Wyoming; MRS. PALMER, of Glen Ellyn, Illinois; MRS. MAE WARRELL, of Woodward, Ia., and ARTHUR, deceased.
Besides her children, she leaves an aged sister, MRS. WURSINA, of Williamsport, Pennsylvania.Twenty-two grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends to mourn her departure. In her girlhood days she united with the Methodist Church, being a faithful member.She was always a great worker in church and Sunday School as long as her health permitted.She had been a constant sufferer for the past several years, but bore her suffering with patience and uncomplainingly.She was a devoted mother, a kind and loving neighbor always ready to help those in sickness and trouble in any way that she could.
The remains were brought to Grand River, Wednesday, June 25th.Funeral services were held Thursday, June 26th, at the Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. E.C. Vanderpool.Interment in Oak Hill Cemetery beside her husband.
