Good afternoon! I received some info from my second cousin, Fred Binning who lives in Mansfield, La.He told me a cousin in Baton Rouge was looking up our family tree. His father and my grandfather William Thomas Binning were brothers, both living in Mansfield. His dad, Uncle Leonard Binning and Aunt Ruby lived across the street from my mother's house on Binning Road. Now a younger son, Earl Binning lives in the house. My mother, Madeline Landry Binning lives across the street. The street name was changed a few years ago in honor of my Grandfather W.T. Binning who was well thought of in the community. My father was Thomas Augustus Binning who passed away at the age of 66 with a heart attack. They are also the grandparents of Scott Binning whose wife Cindy has been corresponding with you.Scott is the son of my brother, Thomas George Binning. My youngest daughter lives in my house next door to mother and next to her is another cousin, Bobby Binning, son of Uncle Eddie Binning and Aunt Vera who lived across the street from my house in La. Daddy's youngest brother lives on the other side of my mother, Carl Binning and his son, Bryan Binning also lives close by his parents. The next residence down is daddy's youngest sister, Elma Mae Binning Hill.Aunt Maxine Binning who is the widow of Uncle Joseph Binning still lives on Binning Road as does Aunt Letha Binning, widow of Uncle William Henry Binning.Their son Jimmy Binning and their daughter, Dianne Binning Burr also live on the same road. Another one of our cousins, Linda Binning Sims lives 2 houses down from Earl, her brother. So you can tell, some of us didn't move far away. My husband and I are living in Great Falls, Virginia but plan to retire some day and return to our home on Binning Road in Mansfield, La. Did you find out that Grandpa William Thomas Binning ws married to Stella Ophelia Leet and Grandpa's parents were Henry Augusta Binning and Emma Georgia Carmouche. Mother has pictures of both of them and I made copies for my ancestor wall as my daughter calls it.I have one wall of black and white pictures of our family.Would love to have a copy of your book.Maybe I'll call you someday.
Almost forgot, I remember going to visit daddy's grandmother, Georgia when she lived with Aunt Josie Thigpen in Mansfield, La.She made the best angel food cake I ever tasted.I also remember Aunt Jo (as we called her) and Aunt Ollie (Olive) coming to visit Grandpa Binning when he was so sick.My mother took care of Grandpa for nine months when he was terminally ill with lung cancer. He passed away when I was 8 months pregnant with my first daughter so he didn't get to see her.I took it very hard because we were close and I loved him very much.
