BIRTEL/BIRTELL families in NE Pennsylvania.

Brothers, Michael N. and Nicholas BIRTEL both born in Lockweiler, Saarland, Germany, immigrated in 1867 settling in Scranton, Luzerne Co., PA(this portion of Luzerne County became a part of Lackawanna in the late 1800s)

Michael BIRTEL married Margaret M. KLOSE
Michael died in 1885.Margaret remarried to John LAMBERT

Nicholas BIRTEL married Mary A. KLOSE.

Peter BIRTEL, a sibling of Michael and Nicholas, immigrated in 1871 also to Scranton, PA
