Thanks so much for your help!I think you may have pinpointed some info I was unable to find.
You asked previously if I had any dates for Jake and Onie -- I have only a DC for their daughter Mary Angeline that names these two as her parents. She was born in 1874 so I can estimate her parents about 1850.This coincides with the 1880 KY census you referenced. Also shown on that same page is Anderson Benford next door to JA and Oncy.I looked for Anderson Benford in VA as census indicates but have only an 1840 census which does not show names. It looks like O's mother would have been the first wife to Anderson rather than Mary as shown in 1880 KY record. Also of interest is that the name Anderson appears in later generations.
You asked also if Jake had ever been in MO.I do not know if he was in MO but that is where dau Mary Angeline died.
I found your comments about Wm A. and Luther R. interesting.I found a 1900 MO census that shows Luther in household of Annie (as indexed) but we both know that could have been Onie as well. The dates shown for the 1880 and 1900 census records are about 2 years different for all people shown. The 1880 census shows Luther as 1-1/2 years but the 1900 census shows his birth as 1881 so there is some discrepancy there that could be attributed to census dates or to the fact they could neither read nor write.
You mentioned having found a DC for Wm A listing Wm. also as his father's name.Could you point me to the DC so that I may be able to view it somewhere? The 1880 census shows Wm as being born about 1876 but you indicate the DC shows birth as 1878.Again, that 2 year difference appears. The 1880 census lists his father as JA Black and you say the DC lists him as Wm.Interesting! And confusing!
