Again, thanks. I needed some sort of confirmation on the BELL connection. The bulk of what I have on BLACKARDs comes from "The History of Sequoyah Co.,1828-1975", pub. 1976 by the Sequoyah Co. Historical Society (Oklahoma). The story about the Rev. War Willoghby is tantallizing - I found it in a letter dated 15 March, 1982 from a BLACKARD cousin in L.A., addressed to Edgar and Maynard, Maynard, and W.D.BLACKARD, Muldrow, Okla. His letter is mainly a request for any infomation on Willoghby, but mentions the Scots/Gaelic incident in just one sentence, pretty much as I wrote earlier. Sadly, that's all I have. It's good to know someone else has heard about it. It would be nice to have info on Scottish origins and colonial history. Help will be much appreciated. Thanks. . .
