I am descended from Harrison Blagrave and Esther Harbison through their daughter Jane, called "Jincy," b. 1796 in Kentucky. This couple and many of Esther's numerous siblings and their families apparently moved from Kentucky to Maury County, Tennessee, approximately 1810. I don't know if any Blagraves went along on this mass migration. Later the Harrison Blagraves went to Indiana, where Jane married Ephraim McLean or McLain as one of the first recorded marriages in Pike County in 1817, in an area that soon became Dubois Co. In my research I discovered a story that Harrison Blagrave had been killed by Indians -- burned at the stake (unverified). Later Jane married James E. Scott in 1827 in Dubois Co. and moved with his family from Indiana to the Houston area in Texas about 1834, in time for the Texas Revolution. She had three McLean children -- Harrison, Esther, Elizabeth -- and three Scotts -- William, George, James. A few Blagraves/Blackgroves show up in the Texas records near the Scotts in the late 1800s -- not sure of their connection.
