Hi Andrew - your message is from some time ago, but I'd love to talk to you more about this family. There is quite a bit of confusion and overlap with this Blaisdell family line. I share a connection to Daniel and Elizabeth Colyear (Coulliard?) as well as to the descendants of what I believe to be Daniel and his second wife, Betsy Spaulding.
Daniel and Elizabeth Colyear had: Christopher, 1793 (my ancestor), who has a son named Nichols b. 1812 Mary, 1795 (married Enoch Hutchins) Sarah, 1797 (married Reuben Fletcher) Stephen Lowell, 1800 Moses, 1802.
Daniel and Betsy Spaulding had: Eliza, b. 1805 Catherine, 1808 (married William Berry) Martha, 1811 (married probably Julius Owen) Jane, 1814 John Spaulding, 1817 (my ancestor), b. Bath
It confuses matters that there is another Daniel Blaisdell in Phippsburg at this time, who is, I believe, the likely UNCLE to this Daniel Blaisdell. The children all have very similar names as well. Daniel (b. 1757, son of Christopher, b. 1721/2) and Anna Fellows, had these children: Sarah, 1780 (married Barnabas Chandler) Elizabeth, 1782 (married Francis Morse) Joseph, 1785 Moses, 1787 (died young I think) Abigail, 1792 (died young) Mary (Molly), 1795 (twin) (married Samuel Wildes) Prudence, 1795 (twin) (married John Wildes) Nichols, 1797 (married Sarah Small) Judith, 1800 (married Ephraim Wildes)
I am hoping your family correspondence might help tie these two Daniel Blaisdells together, and back to Christopher Blaisdell (b. 1721/2) and Sarah Nichols. We know that they are tied, but there are missing links.
Please be in touch if you're still out there researching this line!
