I have been searching for this Blake connection and believe that his father was Nathan Blake, born 1782.He was married to Polly (Mary?) Abrams. They were married 6 Nov 1804 in Cecil County, Md.He
was a brother to Solomon Blake, born 1785 in Cecil County.Other siblings of Nathan are John, birthdate unknown, Catharine, b 1813 and Milton b 1816.The progenitor was also Solomon Blake, m Mary Dougherty Nov. 1778 in Cecil Co., Md.This first Solomon signed the Oath of Allegiance in and was also on the tax records in 1783 in Cecil County.Solomon probably married a second time, because of the disparity in the birthdates of the children.
In Lancaster County, Fulton Township, there is a single gravestone near the corner of Cherry Mill Road, and Riverview Road. It has 4 names on it.Down the dirt road to the East a short distance is the Pleasant Grove Church. There is a large cemetery there, but this one gravestone is not behind the church on Pillottown Road, but at the western intersection. If you want more detail, I can tell you how to find it on google satellite maps. Anyway, go to Lancaster Co. Cemeteries and you will find the information on the gravestone - several names, under Blake Graveyard, Fulton Township.Asbury is there, died July 3, 1866, age 58 years, making his birth year about 1808.Let me know if I can help further. And please let me know if you have further information!
