Blaklys in Texas (including McGraw, Carrell and Franks)

Update to message #410

Eugene Neal "Gene" Blakly
Born: 4 Jul 1892 in Village Mills, Hardin Co., TX
Death: 29 Dec 1976 in Kountze Nursing Home, Kountze, Hardin Co., TX , buried in the Holland Cemetery.

His father, John Blakly died when Gene was very young. His mother, Maryann Josephine Cross, then married John Henry McGraw and the family was living in Orange, TX by the 1900census. Maryann is listed as a widow and all the children are listed as "McGraw" but that is incorrect. Eugene and his big sister, Mary Angeline (b. 1888) are Blaklys. His half-siblings are:

Charley Simmi McGraw
(m. 1. Sirenea Edna Henly)
....Children: Charline, Raymond, Lucille
(m. 2. Vera Gladys Franks)
....Children: Charley Weldon, Mary Sue, Virgie Martha
Isabell McGraw
(m. James Irby Carrell)
....Children: Thelma Emilee Carrell
General Michael McGraw
(m. Ivy __)
....Children: Ester A.

In 1917, Gene was a fisherman while living in Logtown, Hancock Co., Mississippi according to his WW1 Draft Reg. Card

No idea who he married or how many children he had, however we do know of one son, Ira Eugene Blakly. Ira was born 23 Feb 1922 in Clark, Liberty Co., TX. Clark is no longer in existance, having merged with Rye. Ira died 23 Feb 1999 while living in Dayton, Liberty Co., TX

Ira married 1) Ceclia Gallier with whom he had Thomas Neal Blakly and 2) Catherine Cuccio, no children as they were both in their 60s.

Would like to find out more about the Blaklys and the allied lines, as they are a hole in my family research.

All help greatly appreciated!

Sherry
