Hi Emily..I have been researching the Blayden name for sometime. So far I have traced a direct link to England..Canada..America..It appears that the following names are alternative but connected .Blayden-Bladen-Bladin-Blaydon.
The originals arrived in Australia 1856 on the Phoebe Dunbar landing in Brisbane. They were Charles snr. and wife with son Charles .A younger brother of Charles snr. name William accompanied them .They settled in the Scone area in the Hunter Valley .I have much more information if you are interested .Incidentally your name is an old family name .Did your father come from the Newcastle area ? What was his father's name and also his mother's.Hoping to hear from you soon .Barry Blayden.
