Margaret Blewes, daughter of Alexander Blewes and Margaret Law married James McBay in St Cyrus , Kincardine in 1770. They had the following children, Alexander 1869 (d 1855--my line)William 1773, William 1776, Margaret 1778(d 1864) and Ann 1781 (d 1787).
There was also another two connections.
A John McBay married a Mary Blewes in St Cyrus 1776.
A John McBay married Barbara Blues, daughter of Thomas Blues, in St Cyrus 1787* and had the following children Alexander 1783, Margaret 1788 and James 1789. (* This date is presumed as marriages were not registered for a period of ten years in this Parish. However I have a copy of an affidavit sworn in 1822 by witnesses to testify that John and Barbara were married c1787. I also have a copy of the christening of their first son Alexander)
The Blues and McBays were White Fishers and worked and lived in the village of Miltonhaven which belonged to Lauriston Castle but it was flooded in 1795 when the sea defences were breached by the lime stone workings on the northern headland at Seagreens. The village was more or less abandoned then and most people moved to Johnshaven a couple of miles up the coast.
Any connections or can I help with anything else ?
