Family in early 1700s, Lancaster Co., Virginia
I found this information in a booklet I recently purchased at Historic Christ Church near Weems; "Landholders & Landholding" in Christ Church Parish. This includes a very good map:
"F-8 - Richard and Edward Boatman - 150 acres.Richard and Edward Boatman took possession of this land from their father, Henry Boatman, before 1720.The tract, located on Fishing Creek (called Browns Creek today and adjacent to a mill site, had been in the Boatman family for several generations before 1750. (DB 11:152) In 1725, the Boatmans sold 1.5 acres to Thomas Pinson for use in connection with his mill. (DB 11:264)."
I am not researching these people, and have no further information.
