I am a member of the old edgefield genealogy society and a (LOCAL) to edgefield and batesburg where John Bodie lived. If you need further information just email or reply to this posting
I do not have photos of James C. Bodie or his siblings although they did exist.. a cousin Rose Crosson Dreher had these.and I do not know what became of them (her great neices and nephews have them but I do not know their names) ... nice daugerotypes and tinotypes and other photos... had photos of siblingsJames C andSophia Western Bodie.there were 2 families....an earlier marriage before Sarah Sallie Mitchell. We knew they went west to possibly ala , ms or tx.... in 1819 or beforethere was a duel supposedly andJohn left this area taking some olde children and leaving sophia western andJames C here in the care of their uncle william Carey mitchell. the younger siblings visited their dad on a few occasions.
In the PDF ancestral listing John Bodie Jr is the one of interest.
I have attached 13 generations of info of what I got from locally here by visiting cemeteries and doing family history and the earlier boddie information came from drew smith in tampa florida.
Generation 13 is my grandfather Lagarr shuler burton. I have the same name and am a II. did not want to give you too many generations....I have photos from late 1800's of Whit Joseph Burton,my G-G grandfather. and James C bodies son-in law.James C's daughter mary and Joseph her husband were 2nd cousins through marriage with the asbills though not blood related....
Also notice that there is possibly a sophia bodie married a DAY in Dallas co, Alabama in 1840 so more cousins.
If you would like I can send you my gedcomabout 2 MB will have to trim off all the unrelated linesbut the bodies, mitchells and asbillsseem to be interrelated now and way back in the 1700's and before
