I grew up on BODKIN Creek in Anne Arundel Co., MD (USA). A lot of genealogical research that I have done refers to the land adjacent to the creek as the BODKIN NECK HUNDRED refering to the original land grant divisions. This name goes back to the settling of the county in the early 1600's, but noone seems to know the origin of the name. A.A. Co., MD is significantly further north on the Chesepeake Bay than the predominant listings on your mailing list (VA, KY, etc.) ANY IDEAS as to how this area of land & body of water were named???
