Hi.I can't shed much light on your info, however, here is what I have.
The information on James came from James L. Marable
James and his three brother (serious cavaliers) fled first to Wales, then to VA when Charles II was desposed. They are said to have arrived in VA in 1655.
James brought with him his wife Thomasina Harper and 2 young sons:James and Henry. The other two sons, John and Alexander were born in VA.
According to his info James and his three brothers(John, Edward and Alexander) all changed their name from Baughan to Bowen because they feared Roundhead pursuit to remain with James and keep the family name.
James Boughan b. 1625 in England, d. 1677 in VA, m. Thomasin Harper, had four children:James, Henry, John and alexander. The information on Major James Boughan comes from a newspaper article printed in the Harrodsburg Herald newpaper entitled "Bohon Family Was One of the First in Harrodsburg.
The Bohon, Baughan family started in 13th century England as the De Bohun family.Norman Humphrey De Bohun was the first to appear in English records. He came to England with William the Conqueror and is said to have been related to him.
The American branch starts in Virginia records in 1650 when Major James Boughan transplants himself and several other families from England to Virginia.
Hope this is of some help.
Do you have any info on a Daniel Bohon, son of Benjamin Andrew Bohon, Jr.?
