I hope you still follow this forum as there are 2 aspects that have caught my attention.
1) My mother was a Moulden but from Australia. Born in Parkes in 1916. She married my father a kiwi from Ch-Ch who had joined the Aust army in WW2.
2) Today I came here today in the hope somone may know about Peter Hansen Boisen who is by all accounts my father's grandfather (his mother's death cert lists Peter Hansen Boisen as her father). What I have deduced since discovering this family connection is the following ...
Peter Hansen Boisen appears to have come to NZ from Slesvig region of Denmark in approx 1870-1883. He may have married twice (I have recs for 2 (well now 3 ) families he appears to have had, but can only locate 1 marriage cert from the NZ archives showing his marriage to Sarah Johnson in 1884.
Other information I have is that he was employed as a Stable Manager possibly working for a family called the Hayes. And this may have been around Palmerston Nth (but that location data is a bit tenuous). I have the job name on a NZ bdm rec.
It appears his 1st marriage may have ended around 1890-95. I have recs of 2 more births to an Ethel Mary Boisen & Peter Hansen Boisen in 1901 (Leslie) 1904 (Marjorie) & but can't find a marriage cert.
What I do have is NZ bdm docs listing Peter Hansen as the father of my grandmother born in 1893.
There is a lot more to this story & am hoping we may be of help to each other in exploring it.
