Sarah Mindenhall Bonge died 10 Jan 1901 in Hartford City, IND. In the Jun 1900 census, she was living with the widow (Louisa) of her son, Frederick, and said she was born at sea on the way to America in 1914. The online Blackford County, Indiana Death Records spelled her surname as Bongee, said she was buried in the Hartford City Cemetery on 11 Jan 1901, and noted she was 86 yrs, 5 months old when she died..
Henry Bonge died 13 Dec 1881 in Hartford City. His death was noted in the Indianapolis Sentinel on 14 Dec 1881. The article said: "HARTFORD CITY, Ind., Dec 13 - Henry Bonge, an old and respected citizen of this city, died this morning, very suddenly of heart disease. He had started a fire and Mrs. Bonge noticed that it was with difficulty that he breathed, and advised him to lay down on the longue, which he did, and almost immediately expired. Mr. Bonge was aged seventy-seven years."
I don't have any information about Lydia.
Sarah's daughter, Clementine, was born 31 Dec 1833 and died 6 Sep 1916 in York, York County, PA, according to her death certificate. She was married to Samuel McCreary 1 Jan 1857 at the Christ Lutheran Church in York. According to Civil War draft registration records dated 1 Jul 1863, Samuel claimed he was 35 years old at that time. Census records (which give various birth years, but none say abt 1828) say he was an engineer, but did not say what type. I found a 1886 local directory that says he lived in York. I found nothing more recent about him nor his wife until 1894 when a local directory noted Clementine was now a widow.
