You now have a lot more cousins!I live in England, three of my brothers live in USA and one in Australia. That is without all my other cousins. Some of whom, by the bye, are Flemings. So you now have connections to James Bond.
Where to start.
I will try your questions.
I know Jane Borthwick wrote a number of hymns, but I do not remember the titles.I remember that there was at least one in the English Hymnal. But without looking it up I cannot say which.
Borthwick & Sons, which then became Thomas Borthwick & Sons Ltd and then in the 1970's went public and became Borthwicks Plc, was one of the first, if not the first, to ship "chilled" and frozen meat.
Great Grandfather Tom became Sir Thomas Borthwick Bt. and then around 1912 Lord Whitburgh. If you can get hold of a very old copy of Burke's Pearage or Debretts they should help.Although depending how far back, they may only show my father, Sir John who died last year, as the head of the family.
In the mean time I will try and get my copy of "A Century in the Meat trade"
Also, would you like me to try and get photos of the portraits, I think they must have been in their 60's, and try and get them to you.
