AUBURN - Delbert D. Boston, 71, of Auburn died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2006, at Carlinville Area Hospital.
He was born Nov. 13, 1934, in Nilwood, the son of Lester and Florence Clevenger Boston. He married Marion Lewis in 1954 in Divernon.
Mr. Boston graduated from Girard High School. He retired from Rural Electric Convenience Co-op of Auburn in 1997 after 40 years. He was a member of Oak Leaf Country Club for 18 years and Thayer United Methodist Church, where he served as MYF leader. He served as president of the South County Democrat Club and was a board member of Thayer West Grove Cemetery and the Thayer Fire Department.
Survivors: wife, Marion; three daughters, Marcia (husband, Mike) Clark of Petoskey, Mich., Nancy (husband, Doug) Onstot of Ackworth, Iowa, and Kayla (husband, Patrick) Edwards of Cantrall; son, Phil Boston of Herrin; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four brothers, Darrell (wife, Betty) Boston of Virden, Garry (wife, Sharon) Boston of Kalamazoo, Mich., Ron (wife, Linda) Boston of Haines City, Fla., and Lynn (wife, Linda) Boston of Girard; sister, Jean (husband, Robert) Simmons of Girard; and several nieces and nephews.
Services: 10 a.m. Thursday, Bramley Funeral Home, Divernon, the Rev. Robert Sabo officiating. Burial: Brush Creek Cemetery, Divernon.
