I am looking for 17th century Botelers living in Kent, particulary Eastry but Sandwich, Ash, Woodnestone and other villages in that part of Kent. I hope to find an Edward who was the father of Edward II and Henry and was said to have been engaged in importing tobacco from Maryland. Edward II was probably born in Kent as he is listed as emigrating to Maryland in 1669. I have not found any record of his brother Henry's birth or arrival in Maryland, where he married and had children, dying there in 1713.
I am also looking for a Charles Boteler who was listed as a passenger from England to Maryland in 1675, but that may not have been his first trip.He became Deputy Surveyor of Maryland and I have a copy of his deed to a property known as Weston. He may have also owned a property known as Appledore and I think I have run across that name in Kent.
Any information you may find on any of this would be a great help to me.If I can help you on the American side I will be happy to do so.
