Hi, i'm doing up my family tree and have found that my Great Grandfather and his two brothers, were the first ones to race at Tambo, Qld..I have been searching everywhere for any newspaper clippings, pics etc on this event, but always coming up with nothing. so was wondering ifanyone can help me...the following is what info i have, its as follows:
Frederick along with his brothers, Richard and William at some stage left Mudgee and settled in Central Queensland. A Barcaldine newspaper cutting reports that Mr W Jenkin's rachorese, Coronation, with R. Boustead in the saddle and carrying 8 stone 9 lbs. was the winner of Tambo's first two and half mile race. The brothers Boustead rode the three winners of the long races in Tambo. Richard aka Dick in 1879, William aka bill in 1880 and Fred in 1881.
I would really LOVE to get some written details on them...many thanks for taking the time to read this email...until i hear from you ...Kerry Hobden nee Boustead
