Hello, I have not posted in some time but I am still looking for the identity of my great grandmother, Louisa Childers / Childress Yarbrough.
She was according to a letter written by her dau, born April 29, 1829.Census records say in TN.Her headstone in Johnson County, AR, simply says L. C. Yarbrough b.1829, d. 1890.
She married April 27, 1845, my g-grandfather, James Yarbrough (his second marriage), in Benton Co, TN.The hand-written record says her name - Louiz Childers but the Benton Co, "Ansearchin News" says Louisa Childress. Also, the West TN Marriage Records lists their marriage twice written as both Childers and Childress. They were married by Elijah Alsup a resident of Big Sandy, Benton Co, TN. at that time.
So, when I saw in Rootsweb World Connect the following information, I was interested in the daughter, Lucy.(My g-grandnother went by Lou):

My g-gmother was married in Benton County, TN which was originated from Humpreys County. So, the place could be right but the dates are not lining up, as it looks like the rest of the family moved to MS before my ggmother was married in 1845.
Still, I'm curious if anyone knows anything about this Lucy Childress and her family?
