Linda Longoria sent me your comment and said you have a lot of information on the Laurens County Boxes. I have a y-DNA connection to Linda suggesting we have a common ancestor about 400 years back. I also have y-DNA links, confirmed by documented family histories, to Robert Box 1734 from Laurens. These links are from descendants of three of Robert's sons, Stephen, John Morris and Robert. All the work earlier than Robert 1734 on my Ancestry.com tree, Thad and Jenny Box Bunch, is off the web and not verified---and probably in error.
Family lore in my line, and in one other related line, is that the Boxes came over with the Oglethorpe Colony. The only Box I have found is Will Box who came in 1733 and died soon thereafter. Will had two sons, James and Philip. The only way our Robert could have been from Will would be if his wife was pregnant when Will died and somehow made it to Laurens.
Do you know of any documented connections between the Laurens bunch and the Oglethorpe colony?
