I agree that most of the South Carolina Boxes, and probably all except the Oglethorpe arrival are related. Given the paucity of records DNA probably offers our best hope of sorting them out.
It is interesting you think Linda's Jonathan is a first cousin of the sons of Robert 1734, making Linda and my common ancestor one generation back from Robert 1734. Judging from our y-DNA tests, I would guess the common ancestor is perhaps three or four generations back. I realize y-DNA tests are not very precise, but her profile is unlike any of the others we have proven family histories for.
Thank you for your good work. I am a novice at genealogy. I am a retired ecologist, not a genetics expert. But years of working with the interrelations of nature helps understand some of these family history puzzles.
