I am trying to trace my Boyes ancestors, and having read most of the posts here, can't find anyone else with an obvious connection, although there is one other member here with links to Boy(e)s in Hutton Cranswick. So, I'll start a new thread . . .
My grandfather was Harry Boyes, born in Thixendale in 1890. he was the eldest son of Thomas (Tom) and Anne Boyes (née Pudsey) of Thixendale, with siblings Robert, Kate and James.
Tom was born in Hutton Cranswick in 1862, the second of six children to Edward Boyes and his wife Mary. Tom's brothers and sisters were William (1859), Mary (1862), John (1864), Elizabeth (1866) and George (1869).
Edward Boyes was born in Kilnwick in 1836, the older of two sons to Bielby Boyes and his wife Mary. Edward's brother was Thomas, born 1841.
Things are then a bit hazy. I think Bielby had a sister, Mary, and they were the two children of Thomas Boyes and his wife Mary. I have Thomas born in Kilnwick in 1776.
If any of this fits in with your own research, I'd be delighted to share notes.
