Wow, I have just found this site and think it is great that we are all trying to find our roots.
I am not the best one to be giving info - it is my dad who is up on the tree and keeps in touch with everyone, young and old, and new to us.
My father is Alexander Wood BOYTER and was born at home in Pittenweem, Fife, Scotland. My mother Lois Jean nee: ALAN, my dad and I, came to Canada in November 1966 when I was 3. I was born in St. Andrews in 1963. My brother Thomas David was born in 1972 and my sister Janette Alexandra in 1974.
My dad's dad was David BOYTER and he married Jean Wood. They had 6 children.Alexander Wood came first.I think my grandmother had him before she married my grandfather, he has since passed on.I'm not too sure of the order next but there are Tommy, William, David and my dad and their sisters Ena and Anna.My cousins are all Roberts, Davids, and Billy's.We have a lot!!
My uncles were fisherman off the north sea in Scotland. My uncle Tommy moved to Wales and Anna and my dad moved to Canada.
Somewhere down the line, my dad's great aunt passed on and she left an inheritance with a little bit to everyone, along with a list of the family tree. There were LOTS of names which depleted the money but left us with the wealth of new found family.
My dad is great with names and who is who from where but unfortunately he is not computer literate.
If there is someone you wish to know about or you would like to speak with my dad directly, email us and we will give you his home telephone number or I can rely any info for you.
