Gayle, What marriage date do you have for James Henry Bozarth and Mary Ball Smith, and who were HER parents? I do know she is a descendant of Charles and Silvey Smith of Wolf Creek, Silver Point area, TN, but do not recall her lineage.
I have a marriage date of 21 June 1854 for James and Mary, so I doubt that James Monroe Bozarth was born 1851, unless he was born out of wedlock. I also need the other children of William Bozarth and Nancy Allen Burton, parents of James Henry Bozarth. James and two of his brothers were forced into the Confederate Army in 1861 or 2, then first chance they got, they deserted and switched sides and served with the 1st TN Mounted Infantry. One of them received a Union Army pension after the war, and I think it was Joseph.
I descend from their sister Mary Jane Bozarth born 1838 who married (1) George Smith 1852, Dekalb. (2) James Knox Polk Lewis (1863) and finally my gg grandfather James Steele, 1872 DeKalb. Mary and James's son, James Lawson Steele (my great grandfather) was born July 1879 near Silver Point, and died in Central State Hospital in Nashville 23 July 1919, from Epilepsy and pneumonia.
