John was born, 3 Feb 1867, son of Lafayette and Angeline (Blaine) Bramble.Lafayette, a native of Virginia, died in 1912, age 83.Angeline, native of Ohio, died at age 52.Lafayette Bramble was in the mercantile business in Portland, OH.John was sixth in order of ten children.
John Bramble was educated in Ohio schools, completing his studies at Southern Ohio Normal School, Hockingsport. At age 16, he began teaching school and followed that occupation for 15 years.In the meantime, he studied law and at age 25 was admitted to the bar of Ohio.He practiced law at Pomeroy, OH, for one year and in 1892 located to Marysville, MT, where he remained until 1904 when he moved to Havre, MT, where he practiced law.In 1912, he became owner and editor of the "Montana Democrat", an influential newspaper of northern Montana. It was sold in 1924.In 1915, he erected an office building, Bramble Block, and owned other valuable real estate in Havre.
On 13 Jul 1918, John married Miss Valerie Rainault, a native of Canada.
In the 1930 Federal Census, John (age 63), lawyer, and Valerie (age 38) were living in Wolf Point, Roosevelt Co., MT.They had no children.
