Thank for your quick response. There is a huge controversy in the Warren camp as to who James Stewart Warren's father was Goodloe Warren or John Warren, both brothers. We think Caty's father was Stephen, although I just posted a note to Sally about a James Stewart Warren that married a Caty Brandon and it listed her parents as Francis and Eleanor (Richmond) Brandon. We thought her father was Stephen Brandon. Fact: From Halifax County Marriage Book 1, p. 29. James Stuart Warren married Catherine Brandon on December 15, 1794. Bondsman - William Brandon.Rev. Nathan Holloway performed the ceremony.
Fact: IGI Records - Robertson County TN Elizabeth Warren born 28 May 1806 parents James S Warren and Catherine James Stewart WarrenHe was born in Person Co. NC He married Catherine Brandon in Halifax Co. Virginia. The Brandon Family Lived in Halifax. There is two deeds where James Stewart and Catherine Brandon Warren were selling property with others in Halifax Co. Virginia, 1805 or 1806 he was in Robertson Co. Tennessee which became Hickman County and he died in Hickman County. He had a daughter Elizabeth who was born 1805//06 in Robertson Co. Tennessee.
See below: I sent this note to Sally recently. Are you sure that Caty's parents are Francis and Eleanor (Richmond) Brandon. I found this tree, and according to it if it is correct she would be too young for a marriage in 1794 wouldn't she? http://awt.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=wns&id=I12743http://awt.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=wns&id=I12743
Name: Elinor Richmond 1 2 Sex: F Name: Eleanor Richmond 3 Birth: 1731 in Mecklenburg County, Virginia 1 4 Death: AFT 28 SEP 1801 in Halifax County, Virginia 3 Reference Number: I1035 Note: Elinor/Eleanor Brandon was alive in Halifax County at least as late as 1801 because on 28 Sep 1801 she made a gift of deed, for the natural love and affection she felt towards her son Thomas Brandon, of a Negro girl Hannah. (Deed Book 19, p. 75) No record of her death is found in Halifax County. Some family members have speculated that she moved to Georgia with her son and is buried in one of the unmarked graves of the home cemetery of William Brandon in Gwinnett County, Georgia.
