Many thanks for the very interesting communication of 9th sept. Sorry for the delay in replying but this is due to a combination of holidays, work and trying to discover something about John Brann (my grandfather's eldest brother) from members of our family. None of us have ever heard of him! This appears to be a very well kept family secret and certainly requires further investigation.
As regards our part of the Brann Family, we know that my grandfather George Fredrick Brann moved to Woking, Surrey in the late 1890's and remained there for the rest of his life. He married my grandmother - Ethel Jane Bonner (b.1880 in Chiddingfold Surrey), in 1911 and they had four children. Ellen Louise b. 1912, Flora b.1913, Victor b.1915 and Harry b.1917. Ellen Louise married Edward Harmer in 1962 and had no children. Flora married Lawence Callaghan in 1934 and had one son Peter b.1937 he has two sons Ian and James. (I am actually using Peter's computer and Email address so you might get communications from him as well). Victor [my father] married Marjory Busby in 1940 and had three children, Rosemary, Marylin and me Robert, I have 2 sons Matthew and Ethan. Harry married around 1949 and they have 3 adoped children, Austen, Peter John and Hellen. My aunt Flora and Uncle Harry are still alve and live in Woking and Hayling Island respectively. My grandfather died around 1950 and my father in 1967. Ellen Louise died around 1992. All of the family were born and brought up in Woking and the majority still live in the area.
I hope that this provides a little more information for the developing picture of the Brann family and perhaps contains some information that is new to you. I will see if I can get some more information on my grandfather's bothers and sister and contact you in the near future. Can you place G. Brann the England cricketer in the overall picture. He was born on 23/4/1865 and died 14/6/1954 and our family tradition is that he was a cousin of my grandfather - he certainly looked like him?
