I have just found your post and would like to let you know that my maiden name is BRASSELL.Now,Cornelius and my father Henry J.(Hen.Harry) Brassell were related. In fact back in about 1953,Niel(Son or g-son of the Cornelius you are looking for) lived across the street on Wister St.,Germantown section of Phila,Pa.I played with his one son(I was only 7,but I think his name was Joe)he was about the same age as me.He had an older brother,i know there was another brother, about the same age as my brothers. The oldest son was Cornelius also.He and my brother Jack(JOHN) Brassell hung around .My G-father was Thomas F.Brassell and he had an identical twin brother named John T.Brassell(my older brother was named for my g-uncle.My unvcle was know to everyone as "DOC"He was married, but his wife left him,her name Nora.He said he had kids but I don't remember thier names. They were born in Northern Ireland in 1884.I can't find out where they were born.Maybe you know where Corneius was born and that might help me .my g-mom was mary waters, she married my g-pop in Phila. They had Henry(Hen,Harry) Brassell,Kathleen Brassell Pelstring,Francis Brassell,Veronica(BABE)Brassell Alphonse,George Brassell(shot down over the English Channel,WWII,buried in France.and Regina,Died at age 16 from TB.My g-mom came from Queenstown,Co.Cork.She came over in1892 to Ellis Island ,then to Phila. She came with her siblings,Nora waters,21,James waters-19,Mary(g-m0m)17,Maggie-11,Elsie-10.They came on the ship Wyoming. There were no parents wth them.IMy brother kept in touch with Cornilius up unti he died.I have the obit from one of the Neils,He lived in NE Phila. His kids went to Arch Bishop Ryan High sSchool. My brothers two daufghters and son knew the neil that went to scoll, about thier age.The sad part is The older neil died and about two years later the younger one died.He would have been aroundmy age.He died suddenly it seems.I also know of my fathers cousin,Billy Brassell. He died during a night fishing trip in the Delaware bay(which I live a stones throw away from! There were four guys in the boat.It was the night befor Mothers Day.I was about 8 thenStill on Wister St.They must have hit the RIPS and the boat went down ,all died. What a Mothers Day what! There was a father /son on the boat.I went to his "wake" as they called it then and his picture was on the closed casket.I can still smell the carnations.Every time I smell them it takes me back to that night!Alot of the Brassell Clan are buried inHoly Cross Cemetary in Yeadon,Pa.If you have any other info on the Brassell and as I asked, where the 1880 Cornelius was born in irelaND THAT WOULD BE A HUGE HELP.thanks Kathy
