Kenneth L. Bratt Sr., 90, of Derry, N. H.
Kenneth L. Bratt Sr., 90, of Derry, N. H., formerly of Brunswick County, died October 10, 2001, at Parkland Medical Center.
Bratt was born in Boston, Mass., son of the late Ernest C. L. and Emma F. (Linnell) Bratt. He was reared in Milton, Mass., until he joined the service in 1939. He served through World War II, being honorably discharged from the U. S. Army in 1944.
Prior to retirement, he and his wife Grace ran poultry farms in New Hampshire for 21 years. They also lived in North Carolina for 20 years and in Pennsylvania for several years before he moved to Derry a few years ago. He was a lifelong member of the Society of the 1st Infantry Division and Disabled American Veterans.
He was the husband of the late Grace (Aldrich) Bratt for 55 years, and was father of Kenneth L. Bratt Jr. of Derry, N. H., Richard F. Bratt of Mililani, Hawaii, Susan L. Smeltzer of Daytona, Fla., and the late Janice Querci. He was the brother of Audrey Nordley of Southport and Florence Fenstermacher of Melbourne, Fla.; brother-in-law of John Aldrich of Quincy, Mass.; grandfather of Ethan, Emily, Aaron and Jordan Bratt, Kevin and Katherine Grace Bratt, Gina, Edward and Michael Querci, and the late Christian and Cody Bratt; great-grandfather of Vincent, Nicholas and Tyler Querci, Derek Duchemin and the late Giana Marie Duchemin.
Funeral services were held at the Blackington, Conroy and Hayes Funeral Home on Monday, followed by interment at Milton Cemetery, Milton, Mass.
Memorial donations in his name may be made to the National WWII Veterans Memorial, 2300 Clarendon Blvd., Suite 501, Arlington, VA 22201.
