Someone on the forum was researching Sandford Brayton, who was the brother of Charles and Joseph, sons of the "original" Comfort. (They had a fourth brother, named Comfort, who died at eight years old in Hemmingford, Quebec, and is in the cemetary records there). Sandford apparently named a son of his Comfort, but when Sandford died, Comfort (III) moved to Ohio, and used his middle name, Charles. Read through the postings in the Forum and you can probably find this information.

Also somewhere in the postings is a note on how the unusual name of Comfort came to be. Comfort's mother was Content Curtis, wife of Gideon. She had a brother, Comfort, and she named the first Comfort after him. The person who passed this information along was descended through on of Gideon's other son's so she could not help futher, but the data was interesting. My sister says they all sound like hippy names from the 60's.

My Charles married Rebecca Irish and they died and were buried in Franklin County New York. Sandford also married another Irish, apparently the sister of Rebecca.

Hope I helped. I found that just browsing the forum entries brings up tidbits. Everybody is related to everybody else. Good Luck.
