John Trafford Brazee was born 24 Dec 1800, Hillsdale, Columbia County, NY, a son of William Brazee and Magdelena Trafford.
Mary Jane Schofield was born Abt. 1809 in Ohio, a daughter of Judge Elnathan Scofield and his wife (who is yet unidentified).
John and Mary Jane were married in November of 1829 in Ohio, and they had at least eight children.
John T Brazee was orphaned as a young child (mother died, father abandoned them). From age 10 to 12 he lived with a family by the name of Lane, and was then taken away by his grandfather for two years. He worked at jobs such as blacksmithing, store clerk, selling ginger bread, and at age 15 went to Hudson, NY in search of employment. After six months, he concluded to come to Ohio. He obtained employment there as assistant to the clerk of court. While in this position, he was inspired with the idea of becoming a lawyer. He was recommended to go to Athens, which he did. There he entered school, earning his way by teaching and assisting the clerk of the court, and went on to become a successful lawyer.
I agree with you on John T's parents, but have no provable connection that John's father (William Brazee) was a son of Andreas Brazee born abt 1735. How did you arrive at that?
